Interpreting the Cartridge Status Messages
An icon on the front panel represents the status of each ink cartridge. There are six possible messages each cartridge can give.
- Ink Cartridge normal - The approximate level of the ink is indicated by the amount of ink in the oval representing the ink cartridge. A full cartridge is completely black.
- Ink Cartridge missing - A flashing rectangular icon indicates that the ink cartridge is missing.
- Ink Cartridge low - When a flashing exclamation mark is displayed, the ink cartridge is low on ink.
- Out of ink - A flashing pump indicates that the ink cartridge is out of ink.
- Incorrect ink cartridge installed - A flashing cross indicates that the wrong ink cartridge is installed. With A.00.06 or older firmware, a flashing cross can also indicate that the cartridge is expired.
- Ink Cartridge expiring - The Sand Clock indicates that the ink cartridge will expire in X amount of days. The number of days is shown at the top of the display screen.
