Troubleshooting stepsback to table of contents

If parts are replaced or fixed in any of the steps listed below, attempt to verify printer functionality by turning the printer on and printing internal test prints. If functionality is verified, no additional parts should be replaced.

  1. Turn the printer on.
  2. Using the Arrow keys on the front panel, scroll to the Printer Setup Options menu (printer Icon located on top right of the printer display) and press ENTER.
  3. Scroll to Internal RIP Settings and press ENTER.
  4. Scroll to Color calibration and press ENTER.
  5. Choose Yes and press ENTER (turning the Color calibration on).
  6. Have customer print an image that noticeably displays the problem.
  7. Following the printing of the image, repeat steps 2-5 and change Color calibration to No (turning the Color calibration off).
  8. Print the same image again.
  9. If both prints appear the same (green tint on both) the problem is most likely related to the software application. Troubleshoot as needed.
  10. If there is a noticeable difference between the two prints (green tint on one and not on the other) replace the Line Sensor (the Line Sensor is located on the Carriage assembly), refer to pg. 8-46 of the 5000 Series Service Manual.
  11. Following replacement, turn the printer on and perform a Scan-Axis, Service Station, and Accuracy calibration in the order listed (instructions below).
  1. Following successful calibrations, turn the printer off.
  2. Turn the printer on.
  3. Turn the Color calibration on following steps 2-5.
  4. Run a Color calibration (Utilities, Calibrations, Color Calibration).
  5. Verify functionality by successfully printing several internal prints.
