An unusual noise is heard when the media advances. The "noise" is usually heard from the left side (rear) of the printer. Follow the steps listed below to accurately troubleshoot the issue, and replace the appropriate parts.

NOTE: If Removal and Installation instructions are needed for reference during any repairs performed, refer to the 500/800 Series Service Manual available on the Partner Care Web site for review or download.
If any of the troubleshooting steps listed below solve the problem, attempt to verify printer functionality as instructed below. If functionality is verified, no additional parts should be replaced.
NOTE: If the noise does not occur with a standard size media, the non-standard size media is causing the noise and not the printer. Suggest using standard media sizes to eliminate the noise.
