If the LEDs are on, turn the printer off and continue with the remaining steps.

Remove the HP Jetdirect card and install it into the other available EIO slot.
If no error appears, note that one EIO slot on the Main PCA is defective and will require a Main PCA replacement.
NOTE: If the printer is covered by warranty or contract, schedule service to replace the Main PCA and the HDD controller. If there is no warranty or contract coverage, the customer may schedule service at their convenience.
If the error appears with the EIO card in both slots, turn the printer off and remove the EIO card altogether.
If the problem does not occur with the EIO card removed, verify printer functionality and replace the EIO card.
NOTE: If the EIO card is proven faulty, do not dispatch service; send a new card via WWCCS.
If the problem persists, turn the printer off and re-install the EIO card back into the original slot.
Check and re-seat the HDD cables.
NOTE: Verify that the flat cable connector is clipped correctly.
If the error continues, replace the HDD (refer to pg. 8-72 of the Service Manual). Following replacement, perform a backup EEROM service utility (instructions listed below) and attempt to verify functionality.
If the error continues, leave the printer on and open the small Main PCA cover on the back of the printer (DIMM and memory access cover).
